A classic Shaker desk, modelled after an example found by a client. While the example was made from “fruit wood”, this piece is crafted from local Alabama quatersawn White Oak with exceptional figuring. This simple, one drawer work surface hides an interesting secret: a hidden compartment. The client wanted a fun, interactive component for him and his newborn son. A simple pin with a monogrammed magnet allows for the user to access an unknown slot behind the drawer, in this case a toy compartment.
